[ENG] [ITA] [ESP] In our everyday lives, whether we are meeting somebody in person or see an image of them, the individual's social coordinates let us form a first, and sometimes definitive opinion about the person we are encountering. In these paintings, the subjects present no context (haircut, clothes, posture, surroundings) that might place them in a specific time frame, space or social class. Reminiscent of masks, they paradoxically lack any of the elements that normally mask a person. The viewer is forced to relate to them without the aide of his or her ideological agenda.
