The altars series originates from the effort to give an image, a home, or, more in general, a meaning, to divinity. The result being small temples/cribs filled with contradictory contaminations that invite a close observation and the discovery of minute details made of strass, tiny flowers, small lights and miniature landscapes. They're also the products of the new globalized market: Chinese costume jewelry and Latin-American handicraft share the space with German miniatures, Turkish silverware and South African feathers. In the attentive over-decoration intended to legitimize each divinity we can read the horror vacui that generates it. A visual chorus of the many human truths, to feel how sacred is the bond that unites them in the attempt to defy death.
